Cremation Services
Cremation has become a popular way for many families to honour their loved ones. However, not everyone is aware of the available options during this process.
In recent years, the number of families opting for memorial services has increased dramatically. Once considered an American trend, it is now accepted in Australia. This option is appealing to those who do not wish to adhere to traditional funeral practises, such as having the casket present during the ceremony. Families can choose from a variety of locations other than a church or crematorium chapel, without coordinating with clergy or cemeteries. This affords friends and family the opportunity to plan for the occasion without feeling rushed.
Choosing cremation does not necessarily preclude a funeral service in a church or chapel. In such instances, the minister or priest can give the final blessing at the church before the hearse departs, and the family can bid their loved one a personal farewell.
At Candlepines, we recognise that the needs and desires of each family are distinct. For this reason, we offer a range of cremation services to accommodate these differences. Our compassionate and knowledgeable staff will guide you through the process, answering any questions you may have and ensuring that the farewell of your loved one is meaningful and memorable.
When it comes to cremation services, we offer several options, including traditional cremations, direct cremations, and memorial services.
Traditional Cremation
At Candlepines, we recognise that every family has unique requirements for memorialising a deceased loved one. For those who opt for cremation, we provide traditional cremation services that can be tailored to meet your particular needs.
Our traditional cremation service includes the use of a ceremonial casket for the visitation and service, providing your loved one with a dignified and respectful setting. We offer a variety of caskets, including options made of hardwood, metal, and eco-friendly materials.
During the visitation, relatives and friends can pay their respects and express their condolences. You may hold the visitation at our funeral home or at another location of your choosing. We can also help arrange a traditional church service prior to or following the visitation.
Following the viewing and any additional services, we will transport your loved one to the crematorium for cremation. Once the cremation is complete, we will carefully package the ashes and present them to you in either a temporary urn or an urn of your choosing that is more permanent.
At Candlepines, we are committed to assisting you in creating a meaningful and individualised funeral service that reflects your loved one’s unique life and personality. Our knowledgeable and empathetic staff is available to guide you through the entire procedure and answer any questions you may have along the way.
The only difference between traditional cremations and funerals is that the deceased is cremated rather than buried. Direct cremation, on the other hand, involves the immediate cremation of the deceased without a funeral service.
After the cremation, friends and family can gather for a memorial service to remember and honour their deceased loved one.
