We reside in Queensland and my late mother lived her entire life in the western suburbs in Victoria. We were very fortunate to have met Bronwyn and Phillip at Candlepines and commend their professionalism, efficiency and empathy in relation to my late Mother’s arrangements during perhaps the most difficult period of the calendar year between Christmas and New Year.The high degree of compassion, care and diligence shown by Bronwyn and Phillip would never be found in any large national Funeral Director which is one of the primary reasons as to why we selected Candlepines for their genuine and personal service provided to our family, even more important as we reside interstate.A death of a loved one represents a difficult time in any family which can either bring out the best or worse in some families. Both Bronwyn and Phillip were intuitive in this regard and quite adept at handling any situation and were particularly skillful at managing a highly irrational, emotional and obstinate individual family member who created additional unnecessary pain and anguish.On behalf of my family, I am grateful for Bronwyn and Phillip’s support and responsiveness during this difficult time and Candlepines is well known to a number of local catholic parishes in the surrounding area and they are also highly recommended by a number of local Parish priests and I now fully understand and appreciate the reason why.

My sister-in-law died suddenly on a trip to Victoria, with no family members in the state. When I reached out to Candlepines during the evening, Bronwyn took my call personally and immediately swung into action. Other "large" funeral directors either asked me to call back the next day, or dictated when our requested services would be held.Candlepines offered great support and flexibility throughout our bereavement. They liaised with the coroner and the crematorium, arranged a tranquil and tasteful viewing, organised natural products for the funeral gown and restoration, and planned a prompt return of the ashes for repatriation to New Zealand.Bronwyn and Candlepines have our deepest thanks and highest recommendation for their caring and professional approach.

Bronwyn, Philip and the team did a wonderful job in assisting our family organise the funeral of our grandfather at the Altona Sports Club. Bronwyn, Phillip and the staff at Candlepines handled my mother in-law's funeral last year and were fabulous, so didn't hesitate in using them for my father in-law two weeks ago. I recently lost my mother and was so overwhelmed looking at funereal directors, I came across Candlepines and they just felt right. I met with Bronwyn who was absolutely lovely and so supportive helping me organise everything. She was so helpful with any questions I had and when it came to the service, the service was amazing. I have been to funerals in the past but candlepines really made us feel comforted and they treated us like family. I thank Bronwyn and the candlepines team for all of thier help and support. Sadly, we had to organize a funeral for our mother who passed away in November. Unlike birthday parties which happen yearly, it is the one event that you don't get to rehearse. The entire process would have been quite overwhelming if it wasn't for Bronwyn at Candlepines. After mum passed away we weren’t sure who to use or what happened next - death admin - people called it ! It was a very difficult time but once we found Candlepines funeral services we felt relieved as they were so helpful and very professional. Mum had a very simple quick burial and with Bronwyn’s help she was laid to rest with ease and comfort for all concerned, and the flowers were just beautiful. We contacted Candlepines to arrange for a pre paid funeral both Phillip and Bronwyn we very helpful in advising us of all packages and options and costs that were available. Arranging the funeral in advance was an excellent option for us. When it was time for the funeral arrangements we had a meeting with Bronwyn she was so kind considerate and sympathetic. Bronwyn arranged for the memorial cards the flowers and pointed us in the right direction to arrange the photo gallery and music that we had chosen. We reside in Queensland and my late mother lived her entire life in the western suburbs in Victoria. We were very fortunate to have met Bronwyn and Phillip at Candlepines and commend their professionalism, efficiency and empathy in relation to my late Mother’s arrangements during perhaps the most difficult period of the calendar year between Christmas and New Year.The high degree of compassion, care and diligence shown by Bronwyn and Phillip would never be found in any large national Funeral Director which is one of the primary reasons as to why we selected Candlepines for their genuine and personal service provided to our family, even more important as we reside interstate.A death of a loved one represents a difficult time in any family which can either bring out the best or worse in some families. Both Bronwyn and Phillip were intuitive in this regard and quite adept at handling any situation and were particularly skillful at managing a highly irrational, emotional and obstinate individual family member who created additional unnecessary pain and anguish.On behalf of my family, I am grateful for Bronwyn and Phillip’s support and responsiveness during this difficult time and Candlepines is well known to a number of local catholic parishes in the surrounding area and they are also highly recommended by a number of local Parish priests and I now fully understand and appreciate the reason why.

My sister-in-law died suddenly on a trip to Victoria, with no family members in the state. When I reached out to Candlepines during the evening, Bronwyn took my call personally and immediately swung into action. Other "large" funeral directors either asked me to call back the next day, or dictated when our requested services would be held.Candlepines offered great support and flexibility throughout our bereavement. They liaised with the coroner and the crematorium, arranged a tranquil and tasteful viewing, organised natural products for the funeral gown and restoration, and planned a prompt return of the ashes for repatriation to New Zealand.Bronwyn and Candlepines have our deepest thanks and highest recommendation for their caring and professional approach.

Arranging the funeral in advance was an excellent option for us. When it was time for the funeral arrangements we had a meeting with Bronwyn she was so kind considerate and sympathetic. Extremely grateful for Bronwyn helped at a very sad time. My younger brother passed away unexpectedly. I contacted a couple of places to get help to pay for the cremation. To my horror they wanted you to jump through hoops, to be able to receive help. Candlepines was very reasonable, and professional. I didn't have all the trimmings,which lower the cost. Bronwyn, Phillip and their son James are absolutely wonderful caring people and are perfectionists at their jobs. If you ever need funeral directors who care more about your passed loved one than money Candlepines is definitely the place to pick. All I wanted for my dear mum was for her to have the best send off and I couldn't of done it without Bronwyn and her team. I even made drastic changes last minute but nothing was impossible for them to change because their goal is for you to achieve everything you want for your loved ones funeral. In Dec 2021 my wife and I suffered the loss of our first child through miscarriage and as you can imagine it was a really difficult time. An amazing experience in what was a very telling and emotional time for me and my family. After mum passed away we weren’t sure who to use or what happened next - death admin - people called it ! It was a very difficult time but once we found Candlepines funeral services we felt relieved as they were so helpful and very professional. Mum had a very simple quick burial and with Bronwyn’s help she was laid to rest with ease and comfort for all concerned, and the flowers were just beautiful. We totally recommend Candlepines to take care of all your funeral requirements during such a difficult time. We did not have to worry about anything after arrangements had been made after the passing of our Mother, in May this year.
